Gulveer Singh keeps running into medals. Well, he really does. The Indian athlete added a third medal to his tally at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, winning bronze in the men’s 5000m on Tuesday.The Indian long-distance runner had earlier won silver medals in the men’s 1500m and 10,000m events.With his latest bronze in 5,000m, Gulveer now has three medals from three athletics events at the ongoing Asian Games.Gulveer thus became the second Indian man and fourth from the country to win three medals in track and field events in a single edition of the continental games. Before Gulveer, Lavy Pinto (New Delhi 1951, 3 medals), PT Usha (Seoul, 1986, 4 medals) and KM Beenamol (Busan 2002, 3 medals) had achieved a similar feat.Gulveer clocked 13:32.75 to secure the third place. While Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew clinched the gold medal with 13:30.79, Japan’s Tomonori Yamaguchi won the silver with 13:31.43.
